Testimonials
Zeomedix, Inc. is a Pennsylvania start-up developing advanced wound healing products for chronic wounds (diabetic foot ulcers, venous leg ulcers) and acute wounds (blast wounds, burns). BioStrategy Partners was involved with our company from its beginning. Through their network they provided us much needed expertise in business, technical, legal, financial and regulatory areas. This kind of assistance we received initially and subsequently would be very difficult for us to gather and afford. Zeomedix has received two SBIR Phase I awards from National Science Foundation and Department of Defense (Army). We also have two pending Phase II applications with both of these funding sources. The company now has four employees and funded contract research and animal trials at Drexel University. It would be near impossible for Zeomedix to accomplish all of this in a period of 18 months without the valuable assistance of BioStrategy Partners. John C. Aybar, Founder & CEO, Zeomedix, Inc. BioSP was instrumental in allowing an established medical distributor to make the transition to medical device manufacturing. "Our expertise at Feta Med, Inc.", notes CEO Eric Rugart, "was in servicing the nationwide perinatal hospital community. We hold GPO, IDN and Federal contracts for our products, but when our Ob/Gyn customers urged us to create a new surgical closure device to better cesarean delivery, we looked to BioSP for help. BioSP was able to provide mentoring, arrange a seminal expert's meeting and continues to facilitate our immersion in the local medtech community. Since our engagement with BioSP, we have spun out ZSX Medical, LLC from Feta Med, secured seed funding, won the NJTC "Most-Likely-to-Succeed" title and are well on our way to re-inventing surgical closure in women's health. Eric Rugart, MBA, COO, ZSX Medical, LLC Over the past few years I invested my expertise in corporate development as a due diligence reviewer and a company mentor for BioStrategy Partners. These activities, along with participating in BioSP’s Practical Knowledge Series, dramatically increased my knowledge of the Philadelphia area start up world and broadened my network of product development, financial and management experts. These activities and relationships gave me the confidence and resources to start Diffregen LLC, a company focused on developing a novel therapy for leukemia. BioSP introduced me to the Science Center’s QED program that is providing initial funding for our technology that now allows Diffregen to pursue further potential funding from the Double Helix program. By personal and professional investments in each other, together we have created the opportunity for Diffregen to develop a therapy that could dramatically improve the quality of care for leukemia patients and save lives! Deni M. Zodda, Ph.D., President and Chief Executive Officer, Diffregen, LLC I don't think that I need to tell you that I would not have been able to advance much of anything were it not for the amazing support, guidance and advice that I have received from BioSP. Mike Behr, President & COO, CD Diagnostics, LLC BioSP's Corporate Development Program provided OneWorld Biotech with highly effective and personalized business, financial and marketing coaching at a very early stage when the company needed it most, helping us to create a strong foundation for future growth. Malla Padidam, Ph.D., President, OneWorldBiotech, Inc. The best classes I have taken since I left grad school are your monthly practical knowledge sessions! Margery Ross, PhD
