BioStrategy Partners' mission is to
provide a continuum of services and infrastructure to young life sciences
companies, enabling them to thrive in the Greater Philadelphia region. We
are virtual, regional, and expert. A nonprofit 501(c)4 service organization
founded in 2004, BioSP functions as a nursery, cultivating good business
practices in young companies and helping them access the services they
need to survive the critical early stages of development.

impressive and growing list of people and companies that have joined our

The Directory is a great networking tool, and as you will see when you

the works, too, so please check back regularly. And don't hesitate to

Fox Rothschild Accelerates Its
Practice in Helping Early and Middle Stage Growth and Life Sciences
Companies to Succeed
From Pittsburgh
to Chester/Bucks Counties to Philadelphia
and New Jersey,
Fox Rothschild continues to expand its practice of helping young and
middle stage companies to grow and advance. Most recently, the firm has
added two life sciences lawyers in Fox's Montgomery County
office. This Life Sciences Practice focuses on combining both IP
components and a strong emphasis on finance.
Jeff Nicholas, Chair of Fox Rothschild's
Tech & Venture Finance Practice Group commented, "Smart
companies at every stage of development want legal counsel who help drive
strategic vision, leverage assets, and build shareholder value." The
Tech & Venture Finance and Life Sciences Practices are reaching out
to organizations within the Delaware
Valley region and
beyond to help those companies recognize the opportunities, rewards, and
challenges involved in starting new companies and taking them to the next
stage of success.
In addition to the many BioStrategy
Partners and BioLaunch 611+KIZ sessions the firm has participated in, Fox
has undertaken leadership roles at many industry events including the
March 2008 Emerging Technologies for the Enterprise Conference held at
Drexel University. At the Conference, a panel led by Mike Harrington of
Fox Rothschild discussed the topic "Prepare for Success: Starting
and Growing an Emerging Company in the Greater Philadelphia Region."
Other events the firm is participating in include Biotech 2008, Early
Stage East, M&A East, the MAC Alliance, NJTC Venture Conference, the
Biotechnology Center of Bucks County, the Eastern Tech Council, and the
Pittsburgh Venture Capital Association.
Fox attorneys have discussed "How
to Attract Venture Capital Financing in Today's Market,"
"Finding an Angel Investor," "Funding Early Stage
Biosciences Companies," "Valuation of an Early Stage
Company," and a repeat performance of "Clinical Trials: Do It
Right the First Time Around" at a variety of events. The firm also
has focused on the protection of IP assets and its importance to a young
company.
Jeff Nicholas commented, "I think
Fox Rothschild helps young companies in three distinct ways: we have
excellent relationships with all levels of investors; we bring a rich
understanding of entrepreneurs and how they think; and we have deep
connections to leadership talent. I think that is a powerful combination
and one that companies and their leaders are attracted to."
