Congratulations to Charlie Huntington, of The Huntington/Kraus
Group, Smith Barney, on his recent appointment to the National
Investment Committee for the American Heart Association. He presently
serves on the AHA's Operations Committee for PA, DE, OH, KY & WV.
Chris Pavlides of
Temple University's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute (IEI) served as moderator of the first Annual
Temple Life Science Research & Biotech Symposium, co-sponsored by the
Temple Office
of the Senior Vice President of Research & Strategic Initiatives, Temple's Innovation
& Entrepreneurship Institute and Biolaunch611+KIZ. Speakers included Temple senior
researchers in biochemistry, immunology and cardiovascular health along
with biotechnology executives that work with university researchers to
expedite the transition from lab to market.
IEI's Annual Temple Johnson & Johnson Biotechnology Conference, held
on May 6th, discussed sources and issues in financing early stage life
science companies and the formation of public-private partnerships for
enriching the life sciences entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region.
IEI's Mid-Atlantic Diamond Ventures program will hold its third venture
